The Vessel

By Tanishq Vasania

There is a vessel that takes me to another world; it can take me to any corner of the world, or create a whole new world.

I can live and experience so many different lives, try out things and go to places people have never even heard of before.

I can be anyone I want; live the way I want to be whoever and wherever I want without any problems.

This magical vessel of mine that can easily teleport me anywhere is a book, it takes me through different worlds and lives through its pages.

I find a new home, begin a new life within these pages,

I even get to make and meet so many new friends.

I dance through the pages and word written on them.

I feel all the joy, pain and hurt of the characters.

I laughed with the characters and cried with them.

Fell in love and had a heartbreak with them.

The pages of the book might have cut my fingers but the words had managed to cut and pierce through my heart.

And when the book finally reached its end, I was heartbroken and shattered with it, felt like a part of myself ended with it.

That’s when I realize it was not real and I come back to my world.

I realize that it was just one of the adventures, the journey of one of the stories

There are still so many books and so many new stories to read and go on new journeys and experience the joy and happiness through them.
