The Vacation that wasn’t

Sep 29, 2022

Dew drops on leaves

Snowflakes on eaves

Waves kissing the shore

Fancied my vacation to be even more…

Dusting shelves and scrubbing floors

Running errands and doing chores

Welcome to my reality

Thanks to the COVID brutality

This virus is riding tall

Slaying thousands in its stroll

Worries me on what might befall

Yet, washing hands and wearing masks

We prepare ourselves for our tasks

O sweet vacation dear

Wait till we overcome our fear

For this is only a pause

This too will pass…
