The Unsung Hero

The strong pillar of our home,

He is the shade, he is the dome.

Without complaining he struggles day and night,

Like a flame he burns himself but spreads the light.

He is our protective shield,

Because of him our pains get healed.

He gives us wings to fly high

So that we can reach the sky.

Never does he reveal his tensions and worries,

All his sorrows, he deep within buries.

When we feel sorry for our mistakes,

Within a moment he melts, but his heart aches.

Strong hands that lift us when we fall,

A steady voice that answers every call.

His strength and love are so firm,

No hassles of life will make us squirm.

‘Dad’ or ‘papa’ we call him by name,

We are proud of him, he achieved great fame.

Strong by physique, soft by heart,

Salute to his fatherhood which is a skillful art.
