The Unspoken Oath

By Srivats Voleti

Where crimson stained the earth with a selfless sacrifice,

And war's loud cry surrendered to the peace,

For simple joys, for laughter in the sun,

A citizen's true duty is begun.

No screaming skies, no landscape torn and bare.

Our honest work, a future to prepare.

Our field of valour lies in sunlit building-ridden lands,

Built by the strength held in our very hands.

On laws we build, a nation's mighty wall.

A silent pledge that freedom conquers all.

Integrity, a standard held with pride,

Reflecting our honour for the ones who died.

We work and bear its fruits, with a purpose clear and bright,

Their sacrifice instils in us the might.

Our growing wealth, a beacon shining far,

An honour to each fallen, guiding star.

With our best foot forward, in every time and place.

The community's warm heart sustains us in countless ways.

A bond unbreakable, a spirit soaring high,

To aspire to be the very soul for which our brave hearts could die.

So let the nation rise, in purpose clear and bold,

A silent salute to the stories which are to be told.

In every seed we nurture, its future we emblaze.

Rest easy now, my watchful protector, a brighter world we'll raise.

For their fierce sacrifice, beyond what words can say,

In striving progress, we honour them each day.

This vibrant nation, their vigilance secured,

Our steadfast progress, our silent guardians ensure.
