The unending quest

Original Submission by Minwa Kosida

I heard of a silly word

With four letters

Small yet powerful

Just as the waves come

The word ‘love’ came to me

The bird on the tree asked

What it means to be loved

The snake crawling says

“You never know when you are loved”

So what is love

This stubborn word

Lingering in my thoughts

Love is the passion you feel

The intense desire

To be near yet farther

From where you find rest

But that felt inadequate

I am yet to fulfil my quest
