The Uncertainty

By Arya Salimon Sudhilal

The winds of change blow over me,

It was a gentle breeze in the beginning,

Later became the tornado of uncertainty,

As I long for the comfort of certainty.

I sometimes long for a solid tomorrow,

A calm, unwavering future of certainty,

Knowing that everyday will look the same,

The comfort of monotonous hereafter.

As time went by, I learned the hard way,

To embrace the gift of unpredictability,

Not knowing where my feet took me,

Into a meadow or quick sand.

The feeling of heart racing every moment,

Stomach dropping as if I’m on a ride,

My life has become a roller coaster ride,

 Of emotions and encounters.

The highs and lows, the cheers and tears,

The knowledge that my life is a mess,

The ache for perfection and stability long gone,

As I dive into dark ocean of uncertainty.
