THE TRANSIT OF DESIRE
The bus was a hollow cavern of glass and steel, smelling of rain and spent fuel.
She had arrived early, seeking the quiet of the pre-dawn departure before the arrival of the rushing crowd, but the silence was shattered the moment the driver climbed the steps.
He didn't check the manifest. He simply met her eyes, and the air in the cabin turned heavy, pressurized by a sudden, unspoken intent.
With a slow, deliberate click, he sealed the doors.
The outside world; the streetlights, the puddles, the morning commuters, all became a blurred memory as he pulled the heavy curtains shut, swathing them in a dim, velvet amber.
He didn't rush. He sat opposite her, weaving a web of casual conversation that did nothing to mask the predatory focus in his gaze.
Her heart was a trapped bird against her ribs, yet as he moved closer, the fear began to melt into a treacherous, liquid curiosity.
He was handsome in a rugged, dangerous way, the kind of man who knew exactly how to navigate a woman's body.
"You're far too pretty to be traveling alone," he murmured, his voice a low vibration that seemed to hum through the floorboards.
He reached out, his calloused thumb tracing the line of her jaw.
She clutched her bag like a shield, but his gaze was already peeling it away.
"Relax," he commanded a soft edge to the word. "I just want to talk."
She set the bag aside, her skin humming where he touched her.
His eyes roamed with clinical precision, noting the lack of a bra beneath her thin dress.
When he reached out to "brush the hair" from her neck, his hand lingered, a slow, heavy sweep across the curve of her breast.
The friction of the fabric against her bare skin sent a jolt of electricity straight to her core.
She flinched, a small, choked sound escaping her throat, as her nipples peaked against the cloth. He caught one between his thumb and forefinger, a sharp pinch that made her breath hitch.
"I could make you ache with just this," he challenged, his smile a dark, knowing thing.
"I’m not that easy," she lied, pushing his hand off, her voice trembling with a defiance she no longer felt.
He accepted the challenge with a low growl.
He lunged forward, his mouth finding the sensitive hollow of her neck before descending to bite hard through the fabric of her dress.
The sensation was a violent bloom of heat.
He sucked the damp cloth, his tongue swirling in a rhythm that made her squirm against the vinyl seat.
"Still nothing?" he whispered his breath hot against the damp patch on her chest.
"Nope, nothing," she managed, though her vision was blurring at the edges.
He didn't argue. He simply slid his hand beneath the hem of her dress.
She tried to lock her thighs, a final, desperate instinct for control, but he was a force of nature.
His palm cupped her through her lace, and she saw his eyes darken as he felt the heavy, slick evidence of her betrayal.
"Pretty little liar," he breathed.
He hooked two fingers into the side of her panties, his thumb finding the swollen centre of her pleasure with agonizing accuracy.
The pretense of "talking" died there.
She opened for him, her knees hitting the seatback as she surrendered to the friction.
Then he was gone, disappearing beneath the curtain of her skirt.
The sensation of his tongue; warm, wet, and relentlessly skilled, shattered the last of her resolve.
She gripped the armrests, her head lolling back against the window as the world narrowed down to the point of his contact.
She came in a silent, shuddering convulsion, a tidal wave of release that left her breathless and undone.
He emerged, wiping his wet mouth with a slow, triumphant smirk. The engine groaned to life beneath them, the vibration a dull echo of the storm he’d just ignited.
"Time to go," he said, his voice back to its professional clip. "We have a schedule to keep." He smirked, and then winked.
