The Thought Of It

That one sign board they all used to see

Shining in his youth it was said to be

Glowing in the dark like another pole star, it seemed to be

the max 20 Speed Limit Board it was to be.

The tallest sign board across the street

Proudly stood among the trees

With power, I see his lean spine and charisma in his bizarre figure

All the speedy cars used to slow down as they approached near

Alluring silver lining like one on a soda tin can

He proudly held the title of 'Every Female Sign Board's Dream Man'

The smirk on his face had confidence

And all was so perfect until

The time went by

Mr.Speed Limit 20's shine started losing its glory

All the cars now used to drive fast unlink when they approached slowly

The charismatic figure started losing its glamour

It started bending down lower.. and lower

The women who used to drool over, were no longer interested

"Let's replace it" when someone said

The unseen eyes of it filled with tears of sorrow and pain

He realised that he will never live as he used to

Ever again

After a few days

After a few weeks

A new board Mr.Speed Limit 50 was among the trees

The cocksure young man

The new dream boy of all

Managed to tempt the stunning 'Beauty 2020 Salon Board'

Mr. Speed Limit 20 was pulled off

The poor soul was thrown off

After a few months

After a few years

The youth of Mr. Speed Limit 50 started to disappear

One fine morning

Among the trees

A new Sir, Mr. Speed Limit 80 was seen

It had the same smirk

And a body so lean

The same charisma

The beautiful lining of sliver

The confidence in his spine increased by 60

Time flew by

Mr. 80 made others realize he was none other than Mr. 20

Yes, he was back

He was rebuilt from the scratch

He proved that he will live as his will says

Again he stood between the trees

Higher than he used to be

Nostalgia

The empty - occupied life took its turn

The incoming of him didn’t hurt

A very uniquely different persona

Someone not easy to gel with

His personality attracted

The time when I was too nervous to start a conversation

Was replaced with temptation..

Temptation as in leaving my zone of comfort and Have and exchange of words with him.

The way I pictured him. He was tall

The one with a well built and a rock solid gaze

Judgemental.. an intimidating person.

No matter how many times I wished to push the urge to talk .. it stayed.

I pictured more than a million situations of what possibly can happen by a mere greeting of mine.

Being honest. Not all were on cloud 9

My steps made their way to him..

my lungs exhaled a sharp sigh

An anxious hello was heard… that was my voice.

He turned

The eyes piercing through my soul the relaxed face.. he greeted back.

I met my new best friend.

The two liner conversations took its turn to long deep talks

The mysterious man shared his Mystery of thoughts

Deep oceans of feelings and waves of smiles

Perfect! It seemed

As it could be

But many of his promises held lies

One thing I learned

One thing that pained

Trusting someone.. loving someone

Often leads to pain

The atmosphere became tense.. not between us but around

The happiness was slowly dying down

My mysterious friend had loosen his charm and was being casted away

But instead of leaving I stayed.

In once that huge circle of people where he was praised

Only i stayed

That is when I felt he would see

That I care genuinely

Maybe I was wrong.. surely I was wrong

On arrival of others he left me alone

That’s when I realised not everything is glitter

His shining eyes weren’t gold

Deception made me question

Is that friendship worthy to be hold?

Still I don’t dislike him or will talk bad about him

Just this nostalgic unpleasant aroma

Is it worth it?

That boX

I hate that thing in your hand

Says the little Yahoo in the way he can

I hate that little box

Which is always there in your pocket

I wish I had the power

So I could throw it

In the sky like a rocket

That harmless looking thing is a curse

That thing eats up all your time

Which should be mine

You always carry in your purse

That thing holds your brain

In its so strong invisible metallic chain

Your head doesn’t see me anymore

That box made an invisible door

You’re trapped on the other side

So am I

My tail keeps wagging

My lungs keep panting

My young eyes lit up as I smell your scent

But each time

Off you went..

Dear Eva I miss you

I miss your touch on my belly

I miss the little giggles I heard

when we used to play near our house’s dowry

Can u pls keep that box away now?

It won’t go anywhere

I miss you

I miss you

Please hear my barks if you can

Come near me let’s play with the ball

Like we used to again

We played under the shady tree

Happier than we had ever been

We laughed in the way we could

When we went on our treasure hunts

I still weep remembering how you used to dress me up like a princess and we had our own royal ball

I can’t forget how you hugged me when I got my shots

You were there when I broke my leg

You didn’t sleep all night

Where is that girl now

It’s all because of that little box ...

Dear Eva it’s been a few years

You have grown up

You are so tall now

But your hands still embrace that shiny box

Which Now I only dream could be me

I don’t think I can convince you

Something feels different this time

I don’t have the same energy anymore

The young man with the white coat comes often these days

Checks all over me here and there

I feel exhausted now

My barks aren’t loud as they used to be

After all this now I am no longer able to wag my tail that quick

Or have the strength to dash towards your face and give it a sweet lick

My legs feel numb

My breath has become slower

It’s been years since you bent lower

To Pat my head

That box in your hand made me invisible

Then when I one day faded

You finally noticed

The invisible chain then you opened

And pulled me in your embrace

Where I was dying to get

But now I am already gone

I wish I had a few more minutes

To see you again without that box in your hands

To see your eyes again

Without the reflection of the screen

To see you smile

But I guess it wasn’t in cards for me

I tried to call out to you when I wasn’t able to feel your tears on my body

I can see you from far as you still cry hugging that body that used to be mine

The way your heart hurts right now is the way mine did when you didn’t come to me

That box in your hand made you forget me

But it’s okay my dear

I’ll always love you

No matter what happens, my love for you will never change

I hope as I watch from afar, I see you holding another of my kind

That only thing that reflects your eyes, should be love

And your head should see it while your heart feels the same euphoric emotion as it does.

I want my Eva back, the caring one

Now I take my leave.
