The Tears of The Sky

the skies cry out loud but i'm still numb.

i hear echoes in my head

crying, begging, for a moment of relief

like the fall of the rain,

tears with no shame.

but the thunder rumbles on

and the raindrops keep their speed;

only i sit in a stillness

one that binds me to my mind

keeps my shadows from the light.

and as the skies wail, my eyes prickle too

my teardrops race the tears of the sky—

they are not scared of falling,

but why am i?

(i must have flown too high.)
