Scars are the silent bonds of pain and memory
Threads of past stitched into future as treasury
Learn to accept scars for who they verily are
Embrace and twine them into your life’s memoir
Scars make good neighbors, with stories to share
Long tales engraved with chapters of wisdom rare
They never sleep as they are destined to stay awake
Till they are swallowed by shadows that dark make
When you dream, scars slide from the skin
Like fading echoes dissolved from within
They reappear once you awaken from dream
Like shadows revived in the noon’s gleam
Scars never lie as they are witnesses of your battles
And testified the storm that quivered your rattles
They are the face of the strength you endured
Each one is a count of the combats you secured
You cannot command a scar to leave or drive it away
For it strikes back stronger and grows deeper to stay
It made your skin its shelter for a sweet while
With time it drifts away to a distant mile
They hold assemblies, cast votes to bestow their awards
On the boldest, the oldest, the longest, the grandest of scars
The contenders range from knee scar to elbow char
Joined by ankle star, forehead spar, and arm avatar
