The Storm of Betrayal

By Ch.Khyati Neerajakshi

It was the sense of realisation.

She, who once felt

calm, peaceful

in his presence,

is now feeling haunted.

The happiness it

once gave her

now feels only like a pain.

She recoiled the moment she saw him,

the man of her dreams

living with another woman.

The betrayal was a storm,

and she was lost in the dark.

“This won’t work,” she whispered.

“It will never work,” she said.

They were no longer attached.

she didn’t want to

be together anymore.

He, unable to resist

his temptations whenever he saw her,

had made her

stuck in a loop

by this scene of torment.

And that’s when

her heart was falling apart,

without a single tear,

until she was just a body

with no soul-

a bitter ache.
