The Starlight Soul

The starlight rays of my soul

dances in rhythmic splendor

to the celestial music

emanating from the kingdom of God.

I glide in blissful enchantment

saturated with ecstasy

till, my karmic debts toss me

into the whirlpools of infinity

and I find myself

clothed, with a new garment.

I wail and wallow

in the miseries of infancy,

finding temporary respite

in alluring objects

and fascinating toys.

My exuberant antics

amuse the young and old alike,

while I perceive them

as a subtle disharmony in my life,

arising out of a confused struggle

to accept the tiny precincts

of this earth body.

As I grow older,

the games of karma

innocently played by me,

streak my garment

with sorrow

while, my soul

watches, unflinchingly

unaffected, unmoved.

As I cross the threshold of youth

and blossom

into a life of maturity,

I unconsciously seek

the domain of spirituality

and joyfully experience

the sacrosanct Presence

of the supreme consciousness.

Divine Grace cascades

uplifting me into the heavenly regions

of bliss and tranquility.

I long to dance

in childlike consonance

with gay abandon

amongst the glittering stars

for I know deep down inside,

that I truly belong

to the starry heavens.

I have come, briefly,

to pay homage to my mother,

the benign Mother Earth,

for my heart is eternally captured,

by the midnight blue sky

adorned with the celestial veils

of the twinkling stars and the crescent moon.
