The Silence After

By Ishanavi Sharma

The silence after,

is a heavy thing.

A weight that presses,

on the heart and wing.

It’s the stillness,

that follows the storm.

A quiet, so profound,

it’s almost a form.

Of grief, of sorrow,

of loss and of pain.

A reminder of what’s been,

and what remains.

The echoes of memories,

that linger and stay

a bittersweet reminder,

of what’s been taken away.

The silence after,

is a lonely place,

where shadows roam,

and the darkness fills the space.

It’s a time for reflection,

for looking back.

A time for healing

for finding a way

to mend the crack.

But, even in the silence,

there’s a beauty found,

a stillness that speaks,

to a heart that’s profound.

A reminder that life,

is precious and brief.

A call to cherish moments,

and to hold them tight in relief.

The silence after,

is a difficult road.

But it’s one

that must be travelled,

to find a way to hold,

the memories, the love,

the laughter and the tears

and to find a way to heal,

through all the coming years.

The silence after,

is a journey we must take,

through the darkness,

and the shadows,

to find the light

that makes a way to heal, to mend,

to find a way to be.

To learn to live again,

to find a new normality.

It’s a path that’s winding,

with twists and turns

along the way.

But with each step forward,

we’ll find a brighter day.

A day when the silence,

is no longer a heavy weight,

but a reminder of our strength,

that we’ve found within our fate.

The silence after,

is a chance to restart.

To find a new beginning,

a new heart.

To learn to love again,

to find a way to live.

To discover that the silence,

is not the end,

but a chance to give.

So let’s walk this journey,

through the silence and the pain

and find a way to heal,

to love and live again.
