The Shredded Heart

By Aadharshini D S

The only thing that lingers still,

When all have left, is this—

A heart in shreds, a hollow ache,

A ghost of love that once knew bliss.

Once warm, once bold, once full of light,

It poured out love with reckless grace.

Yet never found a single soul

To stand, to fight, to take its place.

Now cold, it breaks in silent screams,

With memories sharp as jagged glass.

A choking breath, a trembling pulse,

A love that none would hold—alas.
