But the metaphor stands in the way by not unwinding the clock . Here , in this painting the old person is having a talk with his own younger self wherein the younger one's happiness is true and the older version has put a mask of happiness trying to hide all the wrongdoings and wrongful paths he has taken in his entire life . But the truth is always visible and cannot be hid .
