The Red You Wanted

By Apoorva

The red you wanted was love

I could only offer rage

I was a burning fire

You just wanted a sage

The love of eternity has come to an age

It's time to write the last page

Getting out of audience's range

The performers retreat backstage

The show and its end

Were already written and send

We spoke our lines

We played our parts

Subtly parted our hearts

Removing the mask of pretend

Washing the makeup on lies

Not just time but love also flies.
