“THE RAY THAT SHINES UPON US”

your hand,

a pale, dry object

levitating towards glimmering light,

seems to attain something unknown,

an expression perhaps, or a feeling altogether.

mine linger near the wrist of chains,

a confused thought holds my mind,

and so does yours.

so I slither, slither away your ache,

from thy wrist, palm, and heart

try to reach your hand, to hold it

in the midst of shadows, moving towards

the ray of light, that awaits us.

no more the paleness will prevail,

perhaps love shall be it,

perhaps, holding your hand it is.

to grab it by the edge, I have no fear.

but to slew away, would be a pity, indeed.

so I shall hold it, warm it throughout, as we pass

the ray that shines upon us.
