The Queen of the Night

For in the depths of gloom

sometimes, a blossom blooms.

Wherefore, why and for whom?

We are not to know.

It only blooms awhile

It conquers all the vile

It makes the saddest smile

With its moonlike glow.

Its perfume strong excites

hearts, as it fills the night

in the moon’s gentile light

its grandeur does grow

Before the sun does rise

The Bloom has lost its prize

shrivelled up, now it lies

its head bowing low.
