The Quark of Misery

By Ananya Bansal

The voices in my head find

A new type of trigger

And the world gets a bit bigger

How insignificant the hours

I base myself on are

Why am I ignored I wonder

While the world is a revolving mass of blunder

The universe is accelerating at a vast speed

Still, all I am able to is silently bleed

Multitudinous pages of history

Yet I like to delve in my mind’s misery

The Higgs particle gives mass to quark

Nonetheless, the emptiness inside me continues to lurk

Science serves as my reality check

But somehow, I let angst creep up my neck
