The Promises Made

The fault isn’t yours

Neither it is mine

Because you never said it

Rather I thought that you were mine.

Those hugs, kisses and cuddles

I thought would last a lifetime

But I wasn’t aware that

Those were not ‘only mine’.

I know you will realise it one day

Maybe when you will be all alone

When you will long for someone

You know, maybe sometime, someday.

I know nothing is eternal

It all has to end someday

But those wounds that you gave me

Will stay with me, until I sleep in my grave.

Those promises that you and I made

Will always be the promises once made

But I know that you will realise it one day

When you will be all alone

Sitting beside my grave

You will surely ask yourself that, “what about the promises we made?”
