The Promise I Made

I can’t give up! not now, not here,

Though the road is rough and the end unclear.

There’s a voice inside, still small, still true,

Of a boy who dreamed, and he must pull through.

He stood with stars in his open eyes,

Spoke of skies he'd one day rise.

He knew not pain, nor fear’s disguise,

Only fire, only faith, only boundless tries.

I owe him more than broken sleep,

More than nights that ache too deep.

He trusted me with all his might,

To keep that flame, to fight his fight.

I made a vow in silence then,

A pact between my now and when.

And though the world may dim my view,

He can’t lose… and so, I push through.

The dreams are not just hope or chance,

They're echoes of a sacred dance.

And I will dance, through win or scar,

For the child I was… who believed I’d go far.
