You never asked to be the poet or the poem,

but being the poet is one of your fortes,

and you being the poem is mine.

How we're always standing next to each other in every group picture,

how we're always standing next to each other through every crest and trough.

There is so much to say and express that you make my words forget to rhyme,

but they manage to because you make the strings of my heart chime.

Met a lot of people but my heart, eyes and arms still wait for your presence,

in a whole world of selfish people,

I found you cheering for me the loudest even for my smallest achievement.

While everyone else is in search of a home, I found a whole settlement.

“You will forget each other once school is done” they said,

here I stand telling all of my college friends how precious you are.

No matter who fills which place in my heart,

the place for the maid of honour will always be the plot.

You'd always choose black when given a choice, we'd mark your grey notes as 'destruction'

but I know the pink and white in you.

I know the sunshine you give out is the brightest than any of the pink and that's true,

for I know you'd always choose black but I chose the white for you.
