The Poet and the Ocean

Can you truly be a poet and not love water?

are your thoughts not just like the ocean

deep and vast

don’t they start from point A

rippling through O to E and then to E again

sometimes to X, Y and Z?

Are they not like the tides

rising and falling

do they not overflow their bounds

Sometimes vehemently?

Do they not seem limitless?

Yet you find ways to confine them on paper as borders

Yes, my friend

You cannot be a poet and not love the ocean

Because it is inside you.
