The Plight Of The Wooden Piece
By Preeti Kale
A round wooden table in the mid of the cafe
Was the first choice of all the lovers.
How disappointed looks; this ancient piece of wood,
It has lurked many fake lovers around her.
A few making merry with their brides,
Some are deceiving their pretty wives.
A couple who can amazingly smile,
It hears the sigh of their ruined lives.
A lot of promises that had gone in vain,
Bewildered to see fancy stories, these lovers when make.
Perhaps, it urges to get the fragrance of true love,
That someday, by her side a Romeo and Juliet would sit.
To behold the real love, it yearns;
that its ancestors had narrated her.
It’s pissed off by these filthy plays,
Oh dismal table! wants to meet the true lovers before the death.
