THE PERFECT LOVE

I need to write

I need to write so badly

To alleviate the pain in my chest

To chase away the burns from my eyes

I need to write

an outlet for my pain and torment

Or so I think and go through now

Everyday is a new struggle

Now it’s the fear of being loved and to love

For I know God is love

But a magical love of my own

A love of times of old

One to chase away the cold

A love to make me bold

A love aside the one I know

A love my Maker shows

I see my friends paired up

Love like the fairytales is what I crave

But the buzz and urgency with which people rave

Brings unwanted notions of forced love

I want one so pure and true

One I’m ready for to commit to

Not because I rush into

Or is forced to do

But one ordained for me anew

And for that I await

And for that I will give up the flesh

For that I will be come worthy of myself

So I will be worthy of him and him of me

And not because of the trends of the world.
