The Penmanship of Scorching Envy

Maritzburg man’s penmanship is hard,

Inking, inflating and inflaming emotions,

Loaded with the shielded exterior,

And loaded with a down-graded guard,

Straight down in my heart of hearts.

Unwanted, undesirable envy,

Carving into my soul, an inability,

To see even my own friend succeed;

Forced down my throat,

By the beloved patriarch of our household,

Who couldn’t see through the tough exterior

While he let out a giggle, light as a feather,

Against a shield he couldn’t shear if he tried,

Enabling the ugly head of internal resentment to rear.

I feel the intrusive ghost linger,

Screaming curses and pointing his blaming finger;

Intrusive jealousy.

When feeling the heat,

I can see myself burning

By a flame that is internally against me,

Scattering around, less expectingly,

When the comparisons come calling;

Scorching Envy!

But, I develop the resolve

Of my empowering flame,

Melting away the fragments,

Of two years of internal occurrence,

Finally, I’m willing to let down the guard,

Which is an ongoing process so far,

Validating the penmanship to come down hard,

Unleashing the beast to feel like G

Through crafting painful art,

That keeps the blood pumping through my heart of hearts.
