The Pathway

There was a gentle breeze blowing. So gentle that its presence can only be sensed by the tranquil movement of the falling leaves onto the pathway.
For the pathway, it was decorated with a blanket of the fallen leaves. Towards one side there were only trees with leaves of hues from yellow to flaming orange. On the other side was a fence, made of tree branches, stretching along the way. Beyond it there was a slope and it seems like the purpose of the fence was to avoid someone falling into the valley.
Ravi turned back to take one last glance at it. This might be the last time.
Holding his hand was Sita. She was the only one who knew what the place meant for him because it meant the same for her too. They had first met there, become friends and finally got married.
It wasn’t special only for them. Over the time, the pathway created new acquaintances, brought siblings and families together, and became the spot for the birth of unbreakable relations and bonds. Everyone who had a memory in this place was probably now settled, else they would have at the least cared to visit the place, but this cruel world no more cares for the past. Now, this was lonely, forgotten and maybe in time will be forbidden.
