cold presses against my soul

yet my body keeps me warm.

I stare back at my past.

A timeline of loneliness, contentment, pain, and devotion.

I stare at a creation.

I desire what I see, I nurture her soft skin, her calm soul, her eternal mind.

I stare at the girl who once wouldn't spare me a glance.

The love I have for her has grown to become immeasurable.

Guilt starts pouring from the frame.

Why am I allowed to enjoy her?

Why am I able to finally love her?

She feels the guilt of knowing someone doesn't understand that feeling of endearment.

I feel it too.

She has found contentment within me.

She has come to understand my love for her, and it is the most grounding reality.

~I pray to find serenity within.
