The Paradox Of Life

By Aarohi Shah

The human life,

Starts with a paradox.

So fragile,

Yet infinite possibilities.

Contradictions,

Aren’t opposite arguments.

In fact,

They are the deeper truths.

And the most difficult ones to excavate.

Childhood,

Such innocence and wonder,

Just because,

They are oblivious,

To the true world.

Adolescence,

The zest of living life,

With the constant pressure,

Of living in the moment,

Yet preparing for the future.

Adulthood,

Carrying everyone’s weight,

Pretending they are fine.

While in their mind,

A storm raging inside.

Old Age,

A lone man and his wife.

Waiting for death,

Yet praying,

To reincarnate,

And end up together,

In every lifetime.

Summers feel endless,

But adulthood shows,

Life feels perfect,

Then comes death,

Knocking on the door.

Running and running,

Only to slow down.

Breathing,

Only to stop one day.

It’s so simple,

Yet mysterious.

Its hidden,

Yet clearly visible.

We are always taught,

There is only one option.

However,

We never knew,

That the one option comprised of much more.

Invisible to the naked mind,

Where happiness is to laugh.

But,

Who can explain,

The joy of crying together.

Endless paradoxes,

Uncountable emotions,

But all end up together,

And that’s the beauty of,

Contradictions.
