The Only Door

Updated: Jul 5, 2025

By Isha Dilshad

In the quiet of the night, there's a door deep inside,

A hidden sanctuary where my sorrows can confide.

It's the inner door of my heart, a refuge from the storm,

Where despair finds a corner, and I can feel warm.

When the world feels heavy, and shadows start to creep,

I turn to this doorway, where secrets I can keep.

Behind its fragile frame, my pain can softly rest,

In this sacred space, I can lay down my quest.

Here, I can unravel the threads of my despair,

Let the tears flow freely, release the weight I bear.

It's a place of solace, where I can truly see,

The rawness of my feelings, the depths of being me.

Though the outside may be chaotic, filled with noise and strife,

In this inner chamber, I can reclaim my life.

For within this heart's door, I find strength to endure,

A flicker of hope whispers, reminding me I’m sure.

So when the darkness beckons, and I feel lost at sea,

I’ll seek that inner doorway, where I can just be free.

For in the depths of despair, I’ll discover my own light,

And emerge from the shadows, ready to face the night.
