The Old Man of the Sea

The old man of the sea,

Knew it all one could and couldn't see.

Dwelled in great Poseidon’s territory,

Though his wisdom knew no boundary.

Bustling bees and briny seals,

Hustling led many men to war.

Quests for live and puzzling games,

Dragged the heroes down the shore.

Truth was the divine fruit,

If the garden of his mind,

Which he strived to keep mute

So he shifted shape, none could find.

A lion. A dragon. A blazing fire.

A torrent. A leopard. The wildest boar.

Many a creature he turned into

In order to escape mythos of dire.

Many a man starved,

In the thirst for the truth.

Away it was locked,

By the chains of smoke and mirror.

Grab the old man by his toe

Chaos may hit, but never let go

Until at time the man will rail,

For truth itself shall surely unveil!
