THE OAK

I stood ..

unsure of direction

the path to take..

afraid, my eyes darted

from place to place..

I saw then –

lovely meadows, green blankets

colorful petals, buzzing bees..

And also, a Grand Oak –

awed, I sat

under its calm shade

drinking in the peace, the quiet-

my mind unfolded..

Affection blowing from every branch

The Oak comfortingly spoke

like a mother’s bosom, a father’s arms ..

I cried then… I whimpered

at last, I slept-

on the precious lap, of this great old grand dad!

When shall I wake up?

Dare I dream?

How shall tomorrow be?

I do not wish to know

I am thankful, for this time..

This hour..

This moment.
