The Northern Pessimist
By Saptak Dutta
Ever wished you had a providence to decamp And turn your back on the travesty they call reality Ever prayed to revolve the clock the other way Second chances are a wonder to behold.
Ever dreamed what could it have been If you're too acquainted with a choice Transposition never happened to your sphere You had to make them, and mostly you failed. Luck is the hallowed jam to the bread It's not up to you though to discern All you've ever known is blood on a hammer Being persecuted never became a thing of the past.
