The Nadir of My Life
The laughs of my friends fill the empty store—
A store filled with pages of stories told.
The spark in my eye reignites,
A spark once as dull as the darkest of nights.
My phone buzzes on the wooden table,
Two taps—and my heart becomes unstable;
My name marked with heartless rumors and labels.
From laughing the air out of our lungs,
To sobs, and pleas, and truths left undone;
A lie atop another, deliberate, with more to come.
From skies and flowers pink in spring bloom,
To another strike to my life full of blues,
One mistake, one regret from my bruised-purple youth
Led my summer to ruin, with friends left so few.
My soul once hidden behind an abstract piece of art,
Now shown as a dark, fragile fragment that was torn apart.
Once they heard, they fled into the night,
Like thieves with bodies in the attic,
The story written by others remained what was right;
They walked in step behind the man masked in fabric.
The memory of him is vivid, yet still a blur—
A petty revenge born from a problem that occurred .
I pleaded silently
Wishing we could go back to how we were;
When no one was around, we walked alone and sat on wooded logs.
Now I get lost to the darkness and fog.
A year later, i reflect on my past,
With my spark so dull, no light in sight.
At the mention of me, they still laugh,
And my mind remains stunned from that flash
That turned memories to ash and thoughts to clash.
Here i remain, empty of hope,
Here I remain, telling the tale of my life so frail,
Of the past that still follows my crooked trail.
The store turned cold,
With papers full of mold;
The stories once bright now remain untold.
Stories of friendships and triumphs that turned into rust,
A book of gold once worth so much,
Now shelved, hidden beneath the dust
