THE MUSINGS OF A BARBIE DOLL

I waited..

with baited breath..

for that glorious moment

for the first glimpse of her..

Oh surely, it is her footsteps?

Or do my ears deceive me?

Nay, she arrived indeed

took me in her soft arms

gazed into my starry eyes, so intently..

flashed her pearly-whites, so lovely..

combed ever so tenderly

my luxurious golden mane

whispered sweet nothings into my ear

sang lullabies, so precious!

Oh I basked lazily, in her lap

battered often, my long eye lashes

She then, crowned my cascade

called me “beautiful”!

How I wish she be mine forever

yet, none can pause those wheels

the wheels of merciless “time”

It would drown her too –

Into its busy buzz.

What would my place be then, I wonder?

Would she ever swing a glance at me?

Would she not remember, I exist –

Waiting for her touch again?

Would she ever know-

I love her still… ?
