The Moon

She sits there patiently each night

Settled or floating, no one knows

She was bright and full yesterday

And now she’s gone

I want to shuffle up the clouds

To see where she is

But she telepathically tells me to wait

And so I do,

Peeking up at the clouds on some days

Sighing on the others

And on a random day as any other

When I’m feeling rather low

And am not bothered to think about her

There she is

Right above my head

The angelic glow

The hypnotic halo

And so I’m mesmerized

Pining for her all over again

Not wanting to let her out of my sight

The moon’s selfish

But so am i

We don’t coordinate

I saw her yesterday

Half her face

She saw me too

In half my mind

We’re lovers

Estranged, jilted, whatever you may call

One cannot live without the other
