The Mere Mortality

By Afra Burshita M.A

The breeze blows as if it's made to caress my hair;

The stars align, and the moon abides in the sky for me to look at every night!

The world was made to carry eternal memories, for me, for us, for everything beneath & beyond the sky—a magical tale to create as time passes by.

A flower doesn't know the land it's going to bloom in—a garland? Or a warzone with nothing but rubble!

It blooms, it grows, blossoming through the hurdles with the desire to see all that it can go through. Mortality is mere!

The melancholy fills the chest with grey clouds, crushing the ribs and breaking all the bones from within, Unbearable agony and misery of existence strike while a person lives as their blood dries.

The ruptured heart yearns for nothing but the nourishment of the soul;

To find what they lost and make themselves whole!

Love is the key!

Love is the answer to all that the world left unhealed!

Like a mother's love to a sinner's soul;

A cat's gentle fur stroking on cheeks as they feel secure;

A shoulder to lean on amidst the chaos;

Looking up at the sky and holding onto the people who we lost and keeping them close!

Love is all in it!

It's in the breeze;

It's in the sky;

It's in the narrow heart;

It's in the generous smile.

It might be gone for a while but never lost!

Just like the raindrop reaches the sea, life will sprout for thee
