The Mellow Ablaze
By Chandrika Annamraju
The day when I could fly,
Away from the grimmest haze,
On a unicorn touching the arcane sky,
Saw pavement with a hopeful blaze.
It, I followed and braced in for days.
It made me strong and love myself, this Mellow Ablaze.
The most serene, I must imply,
Here, thorns don't hurt nor do snakes raise.
I was the happiest to find an ally
Within myself, an ally who stays.
Howbeit, it's I who left it to dry,
Alas! I was shattered back to the eerie daze.
It is the same evil who pry,
And try to destroy the hallowed ways,
Brought me anew to fall and ever to cry.
Now, I am shaken and in a ghastly craze,
With a morsel of hope that I'll again fly
And tautly clutch to the Mellow Ablaze.
