The Mayday

Hundreds of people with a story each

Foreigners in glee about going back to their country

Indians boarding on with a future ahead

Dreams and bodies crashing into the ground above the heads

of naive students unaware of the catastrophe that is going to

hit them

At home a mother, a father, a brother, a boyfriend, a wife

waiting for you to return back

But in a fraction of second all hope and happiness vanishing

into thin air

Your beloved suppressing every emotion to identify a whole

human turned into a morsel of flesh

The gut wrenching feeling when you watch someone so close

to you lie there burnt to their bone without having the need to

set up a pyre at least

How much money and compensation can bring back a

person?

Who is to be truly blamed?

The staff? The management? The people?

What will all the protest achieve when you have lost a part of

your life

But maybe this one protest and one headstrong stubbornness

can save a person from the pain you feel.
