The Magical Hat

Once a brownie named Hip-Hop was at The Four Scones treating himself to sandwiches, scones, and tea. After he had finished, he saw that his hat was missing. He started hunting for it.

Suddenly, he saw his hat at another table. “What’s my hat doing there? Hats don’t have feet to walk wherever they want” he thought puzzled.

He picked it up, put it on his head, and started to walk home. The sun was shining very brightly that day and Hip- Hop said “I wish I had a carriage with white horses that would take me wherever I want”

As soon as he wished this wish he was sitting in a carriage with white horses pulling it. “Wow! My wish came true. I will ask for more things!

Hip Hop wished himself a gold suit and a crown, a hundred dogs running behind, and lots of wealth. Then he asked for a sack of gold and began throwing it out of the window to the people on the streets. Adults shrieked with joy!

But Hip Hop wasn’t satisfied! He wished for a sack of presents and started throwing them out to the children. They yelled out in excitement!

Hip Hop started wishing for many things like presents, food, and money and started giving it to the people.

“Why don’t I trick my brother Tip Top by this carriage and my clothes? I’ll pretend to be The Prince of Toyland!

So, he got off outside their house and said in a loud booming voice. “Where are you Tip Top? Kneel before me. I am Prince of Toyland.

Tip Top who was dozing in the garden chair woke up with a start and rushed off to Hip Hop. He kneeled and said “Your Majesty, what can I do for you, Oh great Prince of Toyland.”

Hip Hop burst out laughing. “ You couldn’t recognize me, brother. I am Hip Hop.” Tip Top’s mouth fell open. Hip Hop explained everything.

“ Let’s wish for more things.” Said Tip Top.

So, they wished for a huge castle full of luxuries, a fleet of cars, many servants, and a dozen ice creams.

Just as they were enjoying these luxuries Wizard Anger A lot marched into the garden. “ HOW DARE YOU STEAL MY HAT” he raged. “ Sir I didn’t understand,” said Hip Hop.

“ The hat you took from The Four Scones wasn’t yours. It is mine. Your hat is with me” said Wizard Anger A lot. He handed Hip Hop his hat. Then he took his hat off Hip Hop’s head and put it on his head.

Suddenly all the things that had been wished for vanished. Hip Hop was back in his old clothes, there was no crown on his head, there was no huge palace and the fleet of cars disappeared.

I know this story because Wizard Anger A lot told me. If you go to him, he might tell you too!
