The Lucky Children’s Trip To Italy

By Hiti Anand

Today, Sam, Dick and Anne went to the stationery shop to buy pencils. Suddenly there was an announcement that the children who will get the lucky pencils will get a chance to go to Italy! Sam thought that she should get 20 packs of pencils so that she can get the lucky pencils. But she only had $20 and each pack of pencils cost $20. Dick saw that the expression on Sam’s face looked like she was going to cry. So, Dick ran to get more money from mom but she was not at home. Suddenly Dick got an idea of acting like a beggar to get money and make Sam happy. He dressed up as a beggar and started to sing a song. Many people heard his song and gave him money.

Now Dick was tired and the container he got money in was overloaded. When no one was around he removed the nasty clothes he had worn and ran to the stationery shop. But there was only one pack of pencils left. He told the whole story to Anne and Sam so they could know why he is so late. Sam said “ Well, there is only one pack of pencils left and we should not miss our opportunity to buy it.” So Anne handed the shopkeeper the money and got the pack of pencils. When they reached home it was already time for tea so they first drank some tea and then opened the pack of pencils and guess what they got. The lucky pencils! They were so excited that they ran to the shop and bought their tickets. They told their mom and dad about it and next morning they set off for Italy. After coming back they wrote a little paragraph about their trip. They enjoyed so much there and kept the trip to Italy as a secret.
