The Lost Piece
By Avani Tiwari
Puzzling life,
Disheveled, I thrive.
Even if to the deepest I dive,
The lost piece would not be mine.
Overfilled, it.
‘Lack’ is not a term.
The crowd creeps,
Freaks thee out,
Shaken to its core.
Still, seems still.
Seeps in the dark,
Yet, the mighty does not bark.
The sun shines bright,
Doubt implies plight.
They say they know,
I know, yet I defy.
The world has shades,
Shades that beautify.
But it is just that my eyes are bound,
Tied by, I can never look around.
Nyx has taken a liking to me,
Heavenly isn’t usual to be.
Admirer of dark, is it so?
Might not be.
Though the dense shades are to be adorned,
I think so…
As the only thing I see,
Even when I can’t see.
Putting it all together,
Although, the lost piece…
I could never gather.
The excitement in music,
In heartbeat—
Never heard.
My life turned into an abyss of a silent sea,
And silence is all that can be heard.
I’ve fallen in love with quietness…?
Would it mean?
It might not.
However, what sincerely gives me fright is…
The deafness of this loud and bright spree.
