The light within you

I don’t know,

if I can let you see me,

for you are only looking at me passionately, adoring my skin.

It’s just me reflecting your mollifying side

which you denied to see.

It’s your lustre that’s making me glow,

for I’m monochromatic unless you make sense out of my colours.

When you see me, I feel your warmth too, even though

you are yet to know yourself.

I can see your bright silvery-blue dorsal wing outlined in a narrow line of black.

The rain washed my colours away,

when I sprung my hand out of the bus to get the feel of reality

and the burns that were left behind were severe enough to leave me frozen for an eternity.

So here I am, wishing you to caress the light within you,

for the dove doesn’t peck my fingers anymore.

I can feel your light dampen,

soaking up the grief of your being filled with drops of dew.

Forgive me for I can’t orate any further, my throat’s gone sore.
