THE LETTER THAT ARRIVED TOO LATE

Dear Sarah,

I hope this letter gives you life.

i write to you to inform you of my days

how work has been good,

and my heart has been better.

every now and then i stumble upon a certain item,

your blue mug.

it has your lipstick still at the mouth

and a chipped handle,

still on the same place you left it

before you left me.

i almost told you that i loved you.

I almost told you that i cared.

but almost doesn't kill a bird,

does it?

just so you know, I'm doing fine,

and its almost as if you never left.

the grass still grows,

longer than its supposed to,

tangling around the window bars.

But everything is just fine

I’m lying.

I’m not doing fine.

i still use your perfume.i still feel your diamond tears,

and your see golden smile.

As i said earlier,

i hope this letter helps to give you life,

even if its the one that withers mine.
