The Legacy of a Queen

She sits lounging,

On her high throne.

A rich black gown,

A crown made of stone.

The petitioners beg,

For their life.

Saying she knows not,

Of their strife.

Her judgement and verdict,

Is fair and just.

They accept their fate.

What’s must is a must.

They say she never smiles,

But is fair and kind.

Perhaps a bit mad.

The perils of a brilliant mind.

She changed the lives,

Of so many around.

She spoke her mind,

And stood her ground.

Some say she’s evil.

It must be jealousy,

Of the stories she’ll leave,

As her legacy.

Note: This is a fictional work and is not the story or praise of any real queen.
