The Leap

I stand upon the edge of night,
My heart a flame, my thoughts alight.
What if my voice falls to the ground,
What if my words don’t make a sound?
I watch her laugh, I see her shine,
A perfect soul, so kind, so fine.
But fear holds tight—what if I’m wrong?
What if I’m just a fleeting song?
The fear of loss, it weighs so deep,
What if she’s not the one to keep?
What if this heart I dare to show
Is not a seed she wants to sow?
But still I stand, with trembling hands,
Ready to cross the shifting sands.
For love, though fragile, must be free—
To risk the fall, to simply be.
I’ll speak the words, though fear may rise,
I’ll let the truth fall from my eyes.
What happens next, I cannot say,
But hope will guide me on my way.
And if she doesn’t feel the same,
At least I’ll know I’ve played the game.
The future’s not for me to know,
But at this moment, I’ll let go.
And so I leap, I let it be,
Whatever comes, just wait and see.
I hope for the best, for love, for light,
And trust that time will make it right.
