THE LAST BREATH

I watched her,

the way she looked at me.

Her eyes smiling,

like she has somewhere to be.

Blessing all her family,

she looked at everyone's face,

said she feels happy,

and held my dad to embrace.

Sky went dark the very next day,

she laid breathing heavily like she's already late.

i held her wrinkled hands in my very own little ones,

watching her life ever so slowly fade.

But fate had something else in mind,

she recovered till some extent making our hopes meet.

But later did we realised,

her soul started to weep.

With her suffering getting unbearable,

i hoped that she would stay.

But death have no cure,

so i pray that in the next world she'll be okay.

The last breaths she took were so hard to notice,

with a beeping sound of monitor my heart skipped a beat.

The very next moment every soul in the room felt shattered,

the loss to us was too big to battle.

With tears in our eyes,

and patience in our heart,

i watched her soul leave,

And it was time for her depart.
