The Lass on a Spring day

One fine spring morning

I set out for the meadows

To watch the grasslands

And the lives happening there

Witnessed the mosaic at the barn

It added more beauty to the farm

Saw a Lass while I wandered

Like a solitary reaper

She was dressed in a work cloth

Sowing seeds as she stepped forward

For she will harvest when it is autumn

And will last till winter with gaiety

She lives by dignity of work

Toiling to live, and living to toil

I stared at her when she halted from work

Resting, she takes off her hat and the mask

God, she is an epitome of beauty!

She toils today which is tiresome

But tomorrow will be a day of rest

For she will harvest a bounty!!!
