The Knight In A Rusted Armor

I am a knight in a rusted armour

I lost a battle today

With no one to dress my wounds

It's your job to fight they say

The metal cuts deep in my flesh

My shoulders can bear this sheath no more

Paint the canvas in everything but red

Wave the white flag and let it soar

As soon as I let my shield down

The beasts come pounce on me

Now the chainmail weighs down heavy on my chest

Just for a day let me be free

Beneath my breastplate exists a bosom

Under my helm there is a braid

Strip me naked and you'll find

Gashes and tears craving for aid

Clanging of swords and banging of shields

These death-bells ring in my ears a cacophony

Kiss me with your songs and soothe me with your tunes

And I will dance to your symphony

Let me put down my armour

Let me put down my swords

Let me cry in your arms

And console me with your words

Kiss me on the forehead and let me weep

The next morning I'll be gone while you'll still be asleep

To fight for myself

To fight for my race

And I'll be back by dusk

With a bloodshot face
