The Kind of Silence That Hurts

By Bhavya Barai

We were never meant to end in anger

we just… faded,

like ink left too long in rain.

You swore we were more than promises,

but when the storm came,

you stood under someone else’s roof.

And now,

every time I hear your laughter

in a stranger’s voice,

I flinch

because silence sounds

too much like you.
